THE ANNUAL, UNUSUAL RITUAL KNOW AS MARKS POEM
As this unusual year comes to an end.
It is time to look back and hope to start a brand new trend.
The economy lagged along with some of our sales
It kept us chewing and biting our nails
But with the new season and new hope arises
That the new year will not bring any nasty surprises
So as we move forward and out of the aughts (00’s)
The future is bright with hopeful high spots
So onward and upward our spirits will rise
With sparkle and hope, coming from our eyes
This is the time to seize the new day
With hard and smart work, we will make it pay
The future is ours to to grasp in our hands
As we move from the past into new lands
So my wishes for you in as this new day comes clear
That we move ever onward and having no fear
For this time is ours to make it our own
To make a new path and reap what we’ve sown
With hope and a passion for work and for play
We wake up renewed and greet this new day
For ours is the time to look forward not back
To see that we are traveling on the right track
So accept my sincere wishes with the warmth in my heart
That together we make this a fantastic new start
And the seasons remind us what is important to all
The friends and the family that makes life a ball
Accept these warm wishes knowing they are not just for today
But as we move forward and seek a great way
So now as my ditty comes to a close
My inkwell is dry and I am now without prose
May you bask in the joy you richly deserve
And may happiness be in abundance as well as reserve
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Bright Happy New Year
To you and your family afar and so near
May your outlook be bright and your vision as clear
As the wishes I hope for you at the end of this year
